Le Palestine Film Institute (PFI) est l’organisme national responsable du financement, de la préservation et de la promotion du cinéma palestinien. Il vise à soutenir les productions cinématographiques de et pour la Palestine, en fournissant des services de développement et de conseil, en augmentant l’accessibilité aux financements, et en mettant en contact des talents et des experts en cinéma.

Le PFI, en partenariat avec le Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (France), présentera une sélection de projets de longs métrages palestiniens dans le cadre d’un atelier de coproduction de deux jours organisé au Marché du Film de le 72ème Festival de Cannes.

Les producteurs de films palestiniens sont invités à soumettre leurs projets de longs métrages en développement (70 minutes ou plus) et à participer à cet atelier. Tous les formats, y compris documentaire, fiction, animation et cinéma sont les bienvenus. Un jury international et indépendant sélectionnera cinq à six projets parmi ceux soumis, et les producteurs choisis seront invités par le CNC à assister à l’atelier en mai de cette année.


The Palestine Film Institute (PFI) is the national body responsible for funding, preserving and promoting the cinema of Palestine. It seeks to support film productions from and for Palestine, through providing development and consultancy, increasing accessibility to funding, and connecting film talents and experts. The PFI is rooted in the tradition of committed cinema and the history of using independent film practice as a tool for social change.

PFI, in partnership with CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée) in France, will present a selection of upcoming Palestinian feature film projects in the context of a two-day co- production workshop organized at Le Marché du Film of the 72nd Festival de Cannes, in order to maximise co production possibilities with French producers.

Palestinian film producers are invited to submit their feature film projects in development (70 mins or more) and to participate in this workshop. All formats, including documentary, fiction, animation, and expanded cinema are welcomed. An international and independent jury will select five to six projects from those submitted, and the chosen producers will be invited by CNC to attend the workshop in May of this year.

The workshop will consist of two days: the first includes meetings tailored to each project in collaboration with film consultants, while the second includes round table discussions and one-to-one meetings with French producers. A catalogue presenting the selected projects will be produced. The travel, accommodation and accreditation of selected producers will be fully covered.

In order to submit, the following documents are required:

  • Film title & log line
  • Synopsis (1 page)
  • Treatment (6-10 pages).
  • Director’s statement (1 Page).
  • Three still images of the project.
  • Budget.
  • Approved Financial Plan.
  • Director and Producer
  • Biofilmographies.
  • Director and Producer portrait. 10.Production companies’ portfolio.
  • Links to previous works.
  • Letter of motivation for workshop participation (500 words)

Submission deadline is 8 March 2019 (23:59 CET)

PFI will notify applicants within one month of the submission deadline, informing them if their project has been selected.

All submissions must be completed in English.
