Are you an international filmmaker facing censorship, violence, or political persecution in your home country?
Organized by CNC, Cité internationale des arts, and L’usage du monde au 21e siècle, the Caméra libre program provides a safe 6-month artistic residency in France to help you safely develop your next international feature film.
What the Residency Offers:
- 6 months of fully covered accommodation at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris
- Travel costs, daily allowance (per diem), and living support
- Artistic, legal, and administrative guidance
Key Eligibility Criteria:
- Foreign director with at least one feature-length film selected at a leading international festival
- Currently developing an international feature film project
- Prevented from writing, financing, or producing due to threats, censorship, or persecution
Application Deadlines:
- 1st Session Deadline: September 1, 2026 (Residency starts Feb 2027)
- 2nd Session Deadline: November 16, 2026 (Residency starts Apr 2027)
