The associated partner(s) must carry out the application process for the artist.<br \/>\nThese partners associated with the artist may be establishments belonging to the French cultural network abroad (Instituts fran\u00e7aises, Cultural Services of French Embassies, Alliances fran\u00e7aises) and\/or French or foreign cultural structures (art centres, associations, multidisciplinary laboratories, galleries, museums, contracting structures, theatres, production locations for dance and street arts, concert halls, foreign festivals, etc. In France, priority will be given to applications submitted by the Ministry of Culture.)<\/p>\n<h3>Disciplines<\/h3>\n<p>Artists may present a research project on a topic\/theme of their choice, within the disciplines mentioned here after:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Architecture\/landscaping\/urban planning,<\/li>\n<li>visual arts,<\/li>\n<li>street arts\/circus\/puppets,<\/li>\n<li>comic arts,<\/li>\n<li>cinema (fiction, animated cinema,\u00a0creative documentary),<\/li>\n<li>exhibition curating\/art critic,<\/li>\n<li>digital creation (digital arts, video games, VR),<\/li>\n<li>dance,<\/li>\n<li>design\/graphism,<\/li>\n<li>literature (fiction, essay, children&#8217;s literature),<\/li>\n<li>crafts,<\/li>\n<li>fashion design,<\/li>\n<li>music (current, classic, contemporary and music for films and video games),<\/li>\n<li>photography,<\/li>\n<li>pluridisciplinary,<\/li>\n<li>theater.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Terms of residence<\/h3>\n<p>The Institut fran\u00e7ais offers individual residencies and finances the accommodation in studio-apartments, of an approximate area of 40m2, at the Cit\u00e9 internationale des arts, on the site of the Marais, in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>The partner(s) associated with the artist, in France or abroad, must finance the artist&#8217;s travel, provide a living allowance (700\u20ac per month, minimum) and other expenses (visa, insurance\u2026), and carry out the process of submitting the artist&#8217;s application.<\/p>\n<p>No allowance for production shall be paid by the Institut fran\u00e7ais or the Cit\u00e9 internationale des arts.<\/p>\n<h3>Durations of the stay<\/h3>\n<p>3 or 6 months<\/p>\n<h3><span lang=\"EN-US\">Eligibility criteria <\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The artist must:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Be financially supported by one or several associated partners;<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Already be active in his\/her professional life;<\/li>\n<li>Be proficient in French and\/or English;<\/li>\n<li>Provide proof of previous artistic work;<\/li>\n<li>Be sufficiently independent to manage his\/her residency;<\/li>\n<li>Be free of any professional obligations throughout his\/her residency period<\/li>\n<li>Respect a waiting period of three completed years after the residency before re-applying to the Institut fran\u00e7ais&#8217; residency programs;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">There is no age limit.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span lang=\"EN-US\">Required documents<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Complete the IFProg online form using the following information:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Depositor: information about the associated partner(s)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Description of the project: artist\u2019s information, title of the project, brief presentation of the residency project, objectives and expected results, preference on the residency period, support and financial commitment of the associated partner(s)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Partnerships: information on possible contacts and partnerships established with French and\/or foreign artists and\/or professionals.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Documents to be submitted with the application form:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">A specific project for the residency (max. 5 pages)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">A\u00a0<i>Curriculum Vitae<\/i><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">An artistic file \/ portfolio, which may include photographs, press articles, links to sites, video or audio excerpts etc.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">A signed statement ensuring that the works to be presented are by the artist<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Commitment letter from the associated partner(s) specifying the details of its financial support (travel expenses, living allowance, etc.) as well as an explanatory note on the reasons why it is supporting the artist\u2019s application, indicating explicitly how it intends to promote the winner\u2019s work during and following his\/her residency.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span lang=\"EN-US\">Selection criteria<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">An Advisory Committee chaired by the Chief Executive Officer of the Institut fran\u00e7ais, comprised of experts of the Institut fran\u00e7ais, a representative of the French Cultural Network Abroad, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, National Centre of Visual Arts and the Cit\u00e9 internationale des arts, shall review the applications together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">In addition to evaluating the applicant\u2019s professional path, special attention shall be paid to the quality of the project, the need for a stay in Paris, the work protocol being envisaged, and the contacts established in France with art centres, cultural bodies, artists, curators, critics, researchers, etc. These actors shall act in an advisory, networking and assistance capacity during and following the residency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The Committee will pay particular attention to gender parity among the successful candidates.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The Committee reserves the right to refuse any project without having to justify its decisions.
